MAC Lightscapade Dupe?

Hey Everyone!  Hope your wk has been going well!  I went to the MAC unveiling party for all the fall collections a couple days ago.  Since then I have been playing with all my newly bought goodies :)

I had this product in my collection, Revlon Pure Confection Highlighting Face Powder, which seems to resemble Lightscapade.  So I decided to swatch the 2 products and see if it was a possible dupe.  I took pics of the products against 2 different colored backgrounds as they were giving them a different hue when photographed.  Both these products seems to have the same colours throughout each compact...a cream, yellow, pink and blue swirl.  How did the products weigh in?

*Revlon PC is 4.26 g for $5.99 (on amazon.com)  VS  MAC Lightscapade is 10 g for $28
*Revlon PC is a permanent product VS  Lightscapade which is a limited ed. item
*Revlon is a tad more shimmery and full of sheen VS Lightscapade which has a not so obvious glow and sheen

I find these 2 products to be somewhat similar, but for me they are different enough to warrant me having both!  I would use Revlon PC for a more intense nighttime look.  And MAC Lightscapade for a more subtle daytime look.  Below are close up pics and swatch pics.

What do you think, is Revlon PC similar enough to be considered a dupe?

Review: MAC Me Over Runaway Red Lipstick

Hey Everyone!  This is the continuation of the MAC Me Over Collection review series.  The only lipstick I purchased from this collection is Runaway Red.  I am always on the hunt for the perfect red and I believe I may have found it.  Runaway Red is a perfect deep red colour!   I have included a few pictures of the products and lip swatches below.  The first lip swatch is of MAC's Runaway Red on it's own.  And the second lip swatch is of Runaway Red, layered with a lip gloss on top.  The lip gloss I used is Loreal H.I.P. Shine Struck Liquid Lip color in Turbulent.  Turbulent is a high shine intense bold red shade.  I really love MAC's Runaway Red with and without a lip gloss layered on top.  It all just depends on the look your trying to achieve.  The lipstick is good on its own if your wanting to a matte look.  The lip gloss layered over the lipstick is also great if you want a beautiful glossy shine.  Have fun with it!

Do y'all like Runaway Red by itself or when it is layered with the gloss on top?

Review + Lip Swatches: Bare Escentuals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor

Hey Everyone!  Hope your wk is off to a great start!  I visited my local Sephora this past wkend and found these Bare Escentuals lip colors which I found to be interesting.  They are in lip gloss packaging but have the coverage of a lipstick.  The 2 colours I picked up were: Charisma (coral pink) & Ambition (hot pink/fuchsia).  Below I have swatches of both colours on my hand as well as on the lip, to give you a better idea of the colour and coverage.
You can find these on sephora.com, along with 10 additional shades.

Pros:
* Sleek packaging
* Coverage of a full coverage lipstick (ie MAC's amplified finish)
* Many colour options
* Hydrates and repairs, while it also plumps and firms lips simultaneously

Cons:
* Cost $16

So what do you think?  Would you pick these up?

Happy Birthday COVERGIRL!

Hi Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend :) I went out of town this weekend for my cousin's engagement and just got back this evening. It was a fun filled and extremely hectic weekend! It was nice seeing family, but I am just glad to be back home...
COVERGIRL is celebrating their 50th birthday, and in a very big way! Animal Print inspired compacts ($4-$8 USD)!!
Covergirl wants to celebrate this memorable occasion by bringing some African-inspired designs to their clean pressed powder compacts. They are limited edition and have partnered with Children's Safe Drinking Water. Each adorable limited edition Clean compact purchase will provide a week's worth of clean drinking water for the children in Africa, for a donation of up to $50,000. I love when the 2 things I love merge: Helping those in need and beauty! :) So grab theses adorable compacts while you can, and know that you are doing a commendable thing for the children in Africa. The Clean Compact is available now at grocery stores until they run out or June 2011, whichever comes first...
I love the cheetah compact! Which one is your favorite??

Review: Wet N' Wild 8 Palette! Pics & Swatches too!!

I absolutely love these!  But I think I love them more since they are affordable.  If you haven't heard, Wet N' Wild is releasing these 8 palettes in only Walmart & Walgreens.  My Walgreens did not stock these, so I picked them up on ebay.com.  I think they are retailing for 4.99, but don't quote me on that.  There are three palettes:  Petal Pusher, Blue had me at hello, and comfort Zone.

COMFORT ZONE
This has to be the most pigmented of the three.  Even though these are neutrals and usually quite boring, these are beautiful colors!  I only needed one swipe of my finger to get a beautiful and pigmented swatch.  The shadows are mostly very creamy feeling and are a great quality eyeshadow!

BLUE HAD ME AT HELLO
 I think I'm quite afraid of blues, but this palette is just stunning.  Again, very pigmented, just like comfort zone.  The only shadow that really dissapointed me in the palette was the black with glitter.  The glitter easily rubbs off.  Either way, all the other colors in this set were not a disappointment.

PETAL PUSHER
 I've been drawn to purples lately, so I was really excited about this set.  Unfortunately, for me, this was the least pigmented.  The colors are beautiful, but not as vibrant as the other two.

I hope you get a change to pick these up!  Have a great day!

HAUL: Drugstore Makeup!!!

Hey Everyone!!

Over the last week I've been picking up so much drugstore makeup, it's insane!  I had been hearing about the Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Palettes on youtube and various blogs, so I went looking and I think I've found all of them except the new 2011 colors.  I have yet to try them out yet, but I'm so excited about them.  Supposedly the color payoff is amazing and there are several mac dupes in the palettes.

As far as mascara is concerned, I've found my recent favorite!  I am in love with Define a Lash from Maybelline!!  I think it's because of the wand, but I luv it!!

The Revlon Cream Shadows are pretty good, but they sure do crease.  I have to apply an eye primer then the cream shadow, then a powder to shadow to set it.  It's seems like alot of work....don't know if I'll repurchase.

Take a look at these pics, and let me know if you would like me to do a review.
Hope everyone is doing good :)
