Boots No7 Lipsticks By Poppy King

I actually had been trying to limit my makeup purchases lately, but I saw these at my local Target and I had to have them!

I had actually been trying to purchase some Poppy King lipsticks, but they are frequently sold out online.  I thought I would give a couple of these a try.

In the tube, these two colors look very similar.  The one of the right is No. 2 Power and the one on the left is No. 5 Intrigue.

On the left is No.2 Power and on the right is No. 7 Intrigue.
These lipsticks are fairly sheer.  They add color to the lips, but are not extremely pigmented.  They feel very hydrating.  They were priced at about $10 each.

I'm probably a little late on the bandwagon with these.  Did any of you pick some of these up?  What colors did you get?

MAC + Naturally Collection

 Hey Everyone!  Got my hands on the MAC Naturally Collection...Yaaay!  I had been looking forward to the release of this collection, mainly for the mineralized blushes!  I am a blush fiend.  I can't help it.  Blushes are a major weakness of mine :)
So what do I think about the few items I purchased from this collection...
First, lets talk about the blushes.  I was impressed by the new formulation of the MAC mineralized blushes.  All 3 of the blushes were finely milled and smooth to the touch.  To add, they all had wonderful color payoff with just one swipe.  I absolutely love the blush in Subtle Breeze,  I am roughly a NC40 (MAC foundation) and this color looks extremely natural and lovely on my skin tone.  It is more of a blue based pink, but it translates as a  natural flush on the skin.  As for Early Morning, I personally felt as though it was a little too dark and coral/orange for my skin.  I can still use it, but I have to make sure not to use a heavy hand.  Otherwise, it can easily go from looking nice to making me look like a clown.  I will be keeping it, but it is not one of my favorites.  I opted out of getting the third blush in Fresh Honey.  I have too many apricot colors that mimic this blush that are already a part of my collection.  And I felt it wasn't something that stood out to me as original.
I also picked up one of the lipsticks in A Perfect Day.  This is a beige pink nude lipcolor, that has a amplified creme finish.  Y'all know how I feel about MAC's amplified creme lipsticks!  I love and can't get enough of them.  I really like the fact that with amplified creme's, what you see is what you get!  The color itself is a tad bit lighter than I normally like, but when paired with a complementing gloss it looks great.
All these goodies can be found at maccosmetics.com
Like always the swatches are below and you can click on the pic to enlarge.

What did y'all pick up from this collection and did the products live up to your expectations?

Have a Great Day!

YAY, I FINALLY GOT LIGHTSCAPADE!

 Hi Everyone!  I just got back from a Fall 2011 unveiling party @ my local MAC.  It was a good time, there were a variety of cocktails and hor d'oeuvres being passed throughout the event.  I went with a friend and we were able to test/swatch and view all 3 collections within about 45 mins!  It seemed that Fall with MAC was getting the most buzz.  This is the Cindy Sherman collection with the mineralized skin finishes.  I only attended this event to get my hands on Lightscapade.
I am an avid MSF collector and have been waiting quite a while to add this particular one to my collection!  I got feline khol power as well...Finally!  I have been waiting to try out this product.  Being a MAC collector for sometime now, I am shocked that I it wasn't till today that I had swatched feline for the very first time.  Needless to say it was love at first swatch!  I was also looking forward to the re release of Fleshpot.  So I got my hands on that as well.  I did not really spend much time with the Posh Paradise collection as I had already made my purchases from that collection last wk.  I liked the way the Styledriven collection looked, but it was a bit overwhelming for me.  There was just too many products, and nothing was instantly standing out to me as being unique.  The one product I am thinking to go back for is Driven by love.  It was a beautiful red Pro Longwear lipglass...
All my swatches are down below.  You can find Posh Paradise and Styledriven now at maccosmetics.com
However, Fall with MAC will not be released until next wk.

Above: Lightscapade

Are y'all planning to get anything from these 3 collections?

Review: MAC Me Over Fluidlines

Hey Everyone!  Happy Labor Day!  It's time to talk about the MAC Me Over fluidlines...
I picked up 3 of the fluidlines from the collection: Avenue (charcoal black w/ gold pearl), Dark Envy (blackened green) and Midnight Blues (blackened blue).  They all have excellent pigmentation, as well as texture.  I highly recommend getting these, as they are a quick and effortless way to change up your look!  The blue and green fluidlines are a great way to add a pop of colour when doing a neutral eye.  I already bought the 4th fluidline, Dark Diversion (blackened plum) from another collection.  I was also pleased with the colour and texture of this product.  All in all, I have to recommend all 4 of these!

What do you think of these?  Do you love them as much as I do?

Review: MAC Me Over Runaway Red Lipstick

Hey Everyone!  This is the continuation of the MAC Me Over Collection review series.  The only lipstick I purchased from this collection is Runaway Red.  I am always on the hunt for the perfect red and I believe I may have found it.  Runaway Red is a perfect deep red colour!   I have included a few pictures of the products and lip swatches below.  The first lip swatch is of MAC's Runaway Red on it's own.  And the second lip swatch is of Runaway Red, layered with a lip gloss on top.  The lip gloss I used is Loreal H.I.P. Shine Struck Liquid Lip color in Turbulent.  Turbulent is a high shine intense bold red shade.  I really love MAC's Runaway Red with and without a lip gloss layered on top.  It all just depends on the look your trying to achieve.  The lipstick is good on its own if your wanting to a matte look.  The lip gloss layered over the lipstick is also great if you want a beautiful glossy shine.  Have fun with it!

Do y'all like Runaway Red by itself or when it is layered with the gloss on top?

Review + Lip Swatches: Bare Escentuals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor

Hey Everyone!  Hope your wk is off to a great start!  I visited my local Sephora this past wkend and found these Bare Escentuals lip colors which I found to be interesting.  They are in lip gloss packaging but have the coverage of a lipstick.  The 2 colours I picked up were: Charisma (coral pink) & Ambition (hot pink/fuchsia).  Below I have swatches of both colours on my hand as well as on the lip, to give you a better idea of the colour and coverage.
You can find these on sephora.com, along with 10 additional shades.

Pros:
* Sleek packaging
* Coverage of a full coverage lipstick (ie MAC's amplified finish)
* Many colour options
* Hydrates and repairs, while it also plumps and firms lips simultaneously

Cons:
* Cost $16

So what do you think?  Would you pick these up?

MAC: Surf Baby Collection Haul

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a great long weekend! Mine was filled with family & friends...which is always the best way to spend my holidays :)
I was able to run by the MAC store and pick up a few things from the Surf Baby! Collection...
So this is what I got:
  1. Mac eyeshadow Saffron
  2. Mac eyeshadow Sun Blonde
  3. Mac lipstick Hibiscus
  4. Mac Powerpoint eye pencil Gilded White
  5. Mac Cheek Powder My Paradise
Now that I have had a few days to play with the products, I can give you my opinions on them!
Recommendations: Pretty much everything I purchased, I actually enjoyed for a change. But the items I really liked were the cheek powder, the eye pencil and the lipstick. The cheek powder is the perfect orange/coral with a hint of gold colour for the summer, I have been receiving numerous compliments on how my face looks like it's glowing :) The eye pencil in Gilded White, is a nice alternative to lining your waterline. I have been using Stila's nude pencil and Mac chromographic pencil in NC15 regularily. But I like to use this for a change! And the lipstick is a perfect coral red colour for the summer. I usually like to stick to nude lippies, but I am venturing out this summer!!
What did y'all pick up? Do you like the quality of the products in this collection?

Review: Sugarpill Chromalust Loose Eyeshdows

Hello!  I'm so excited to share with you my Sugarpill swatches!  If you haven't heard already, Sugarpill Cosmetics is a new independent cosmetics brand.  If you want a little more info, check out my first Sugarpill review HERE

I couldn't pass up the 20% off sale for Sugarpill's anniversary.  I had picked up three loose eyeshadows during last years black Friday sale, so this time I decided to get all the rest of the loose eyeshadow colors.  I couldnt' get my hands on one red loose eyeshadow.  For some reason I can no longer find it on the website :(  I wonder if it's been discontinued...  Also, I forgot to take a pic of Goldilux, forgive me!  That color is included in the swatches though.

Please click on the pics for a closer view :)

I swatched these without an eyeshadow primer.  As you can see, they are crazy pigmented!  That's using just one swipe! And talk about adhesion!
(Please click on the pics for a closer look)

I think my favorites are definitely Goldilux, Magpie, and Darling.  The quality of these loose eyeshadows are amazing.  I did have slight trouble with some of the eyeshadows that have big chunky glitter such as Stella and Royal Sugar.  Those two colors are gorgeous, but the large glitter had a tendency to rub off.  It may have been because I was not using a shadow primer.  Nonetheless, these shadows are beautiful and worth you looking into.  Especially if you have a love affair with color!
