Self Tanner Series: SEVIN NYNE Tanning Mist
Hi Everyone!! This is a continuation of the self tanner series! So here goes:
What it is: A star-quality sunless tanner.
What it is formulated to do: Sevin Nyne Tanning Mist brings you a red-carpet-ready glow courtesy of tanning expert Lorit Simon. This easy-to-use, airbrush-style formula creates a natural, caramel-infused kiss of color. You will fall in love with your flawless tan and the delectable fragrance that comes with it—forget the typical spray tan scent.
What else you need to know: This brilliant bronzing essential provides a dose of antioxidant-rich goji berry extract, for healthy, gorgeous skin. It comes in a recyclable aluminum can, does not contain CFCs, and is not animal tested.
My opinion: Other than very few fortunate areas, my overall results were pretty splotchy and extremely fake looking. Part of me was tanned while other parts of me were not. Because of technical problems with the spray, some areas were more splotchier than others and to add insult to injury the instructions prohibit rubbing the product in once applied. Basically, wherever the tan lands, it stays. The directions state that the splotching will even out over time, but this unfortunately did not happen for me. Another thing that bothered me was how the tanner stuck to the hair on my body, which made it worse since your not suppose to rub the product in. I was nervous about how it would turn out on the face, so I did not even test it out. In fact, it was mostly the application on the arms and legs that caused trouble for me. In terms of drying time, they claim that it dries in 5-10 minutes, which was about right. Several hours later I went to bed and, in the morning, I awoke to a brown residue where I slept. And if this wasn't bad enough, it did not wash out completely from my favorite cream sheets.
To summarize, for $35 I would expect a little more ease of use and much better results from this product, so it was disappointing in that there were so many problems. While they may not have the popularity of Ms. Lohan, there are many cheaper, easier to use options available at any drugstore. In the future, I'm inclined to save my money...and go with something that works!
